The Pardus Operating System Distribution, developed by TÜBİTAK, is used by approximately 20,000 users in the public sector and is estimated to be used on more than 100,000 devices in home environments.
With the widespread adoption of Pardus by public institutions, universities, and municipalities, an annual saving of 700 million Turkish lira in license fees is expected.
Efforts to expand this system to institutions such as the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), Ministry of National Defense, and Naval Forces Command are ongoing; and pilot studies continue in many institutions including the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, Public Health Directorates, the Union of Chambers of Certified Public Accountants and Sworn Financial Advisors of Turkey (TÜRMOB), and TÜBİTAK.
