ASPİLSAN collaborated with Türkiye's leading operator companies, Turkcell and Türk Telekom, on the development and use of domestic lithium-ion batteries.
In 2021, ASPİLSAN made significant investments in the development of high-tech lithium-ion batteries and began working to meet the needs of operator companies, which are largely dependent on foreign sources for batteries, with domestically produced batteries.

Türk Telekom, with its vision of producing domestic and national technology solutions, has established a significant collaboration with ASPİLSAN Energy on the development and commercial use of domestic lithium batteries. The lithium battery, developed by ASPİLSAN Energy with the support of Türk Telekom engineers, was tested for the first time on Türk Telekom's live network and has begun to be used commercially.

Turkcell has signed a significant future-oriented cooperation agreement with ASPİLSAN Enerji, a company that manufactures lithium batteries.
In line with sustainable environmental awareness, the use of environmentally friendly, long-lasting, and reliable electrochemical lithium batteries is rapidly spreading worldwide, replacing the chemical lead-acid (VRLA) batteries used in communication network energy infrastructure systems. Parallel to this global change, ASPİLSAN Energy, an organization of the Turkish Armed Forces Strengthening Foundation, and Turkcell have joined forces in Turkey to produce the necessary domestic products. This collaboration, which began in 2019, has resulted in the first products manufactured as part of domestic lithium battery production efforts to meet the needs of communication networks.
Within the scope of the project, prototype lithium battery products with 48V 100Ah standards, designed and manufactured by ASPİLSAN Energy's R&D engineers, have been successfully tested in Turkcell's base stations providing communication infrastructure services and featuring different equipment configurations since October 2021. Work continues towards the widespread use of domestically produced lithium batteries by ASPİLSAN Energy in the Turkcell network.
