Deliveries of the first batch of serial production vehicles have begun in the 8x8 Wheeled Armored Vehicle (AV-8) Project, which was signed and entered into force in 2011 between FNSS Defence Systems Inc. and its Malaysian business partner DRB Hicom Defense Technologies Sdn Bhd. (DEFTECH).
The project encompasses the development, production, and technology transfer of 257 8x8 Wheeled Armored Combat Vehicles (AV-8) in 12 different configurations for the Malaysian Armed Forces. The AV-8 vehicles are being developed based on FNSS's PARS 8x8 vehicle. This export contract is the largest single defense system export contract ever signed by Türkiye.
