ŞİMŞEK High-Speed Target Aircraft System is an original TUSAŞ design that was initiated as a Research and Development project in 2009 to meet the training needs of the Turkish Armed Forces' (TSK) air defense units.
Designed with an open architecture, the ŞİMŞEK High-Speed Target Aircraft System is being produced to meet the needs for high-speed target aircraft with characteristics close to the flight characteristics of combat aircraft and missiles, to be used in air-to-air, surface-to-air, anti-aircraft and missile systems, as well as in firing and radar tracking training.
