Türkiye's first supersonic jet training and light attack aircraft, HÜRJET, successfully completed its maiden flight today.
Developed domestically by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), the HÜRJET aircraft took off from Mürted Airfield Command and conducted tests by remaining airborne for a period of time. During this flight, HÜRJET stayed airborne for 26 minutes, climbed to an altitude of 14,000 feet, and reached an airspeed of 250 knots.

The HÜRJET project is designed as a new generation jet training aircraft to replace the T-38 and F-5 aircraft in the Turkish Air Force inventory. HÜRJET is planned to complete its certification activities and be put into service by the end of 2025.
