Türasaş has reached the final stage in the body manufacturing phase of its National Electric Mainline Locomotive E5000 prototype development activity.
The E5000 National Electric Mainline Locomotive prototype, one of the projects initiated by Türasaş to meet Türkiye's high-tech locomotive needs with national resources, has reached its final stage in vehicle body manufacturing.
TÜRASAŞ E5000 Electric Mainline Locomotive
This is Türkiye's first domestically produced electric mainline locomotive with TSI certification. It is a new generation locomotive with a minimum power of 5000 kW, an AC-AC drive system, TSI certification, and a top speed of 140 km/h. The traction system, TKYS (Traffic Control System), transformer, APU (Automatic Pump Unit), and converter unit, among others, are largely designed and manufactured using domestic and national resources.
