Two ATAK helicopters were deployed to Siirt on April 25, 2015, to serve under the operational command of the 3rd Commando Brigade Command (Siirt).
The deployment locations of the first ATAK helicopters have been determined.
The domestically produced ATAK helicopters have begun their first deployment in counter-terrorism operations. A statement from the Turkish Armed Forces indicated that, starting in May 2015, the helicopters will operate day and night in the Şırnak, Hakkâri, and Van regions, in addition to Siirt.
