ASELSAN, the technology hub of the Turkish defence industry, is opening its doors once again to train the engineers of the future. The company announced that applications have begun for the 2026 "a Talent Summer Internship" programme for university students. Applications, which will be accepted between February 27 and March 31, 2026, via the Defence Career platform, offer young talents the opportunity to take part in real engineering projects. This programme also provides fresh blood to Türkiye's vision of technological independence by forming the most important talent pool for future ASELSAN recruitment strategies.
Behind Türkiye's global successes in the defence and aviation industry lies a strong human resource. ASELSAN, the leading organisation in the sector, places great importance on university students to sustain this human resource. The institution implements the "a Talent Summer Internship" programme to discover young minds while they are still at university and bring them into the sector.
Real Engineering Experience: The First Step Before Recruitment
ASELSAN wants engineering candidates to reinforce the theoretical knowledge they learn at school in high-tech laboratories. Therefore, the "a Talent" programme promises much more than a classic, passive internship application. This process, which feeds the institution's talent pool, provides young engineers with a significant reference and advantage in post-graduation ASELSAN recruitment interviews.
In this programme, which will last a maximum of 30 business days, students personally experience the application areas of the defence industry. While getting to know the corporate dynamics of business life, young people see first-hand the real engineering practices behind the world's most advanced radar, electronic warfare, and communication systems.
Who Can Apply? Prerequisites and Accepted Branches
Participation in the programme requires certain academic standards and legal conditions. The company stipulates the following basic criteria for students it will include in its talent pool:
- Year of Study: Being in the 3rd or 4th year of relevant undergraduate engineering programmes. (Being in the 2nd year for associate degree programmes in electronics and mechanics).
- Zorunlu Staj: The internship must be part of the university's mandatory internship requirements. (Voluntary internships and long-term internships are not accepted).
- Academic Achievement: A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50/4.00.
- First Experience: Daha önce ASELSAN bünyesinde staj yapmamış olmak.
The company accepts applications from a very wide range of engineering disciplines that will shape future technologies. These branches include critical engineering fields such as Computer, Electrical-Electronics, Aerospace, Artificial Intelligence, Software, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Physics, Chemistry, Industrial, Control and Automation, and Materials Science.
Mentorship, Training, and Financial Privileges
ASELSAN not only provides its interns with a technical working environment but also creates a comprehensive development ecosystem for them.
- Technical Mentorship: Young professionals receive direct support from expert engineers and undertake roles in active technical projects.
- Training Support: Special training support is offered to interns through designed asynchronous development journeys.
- Financial and Logistical Support: In accordance with Law No. 3308, students are paid a salary equivalent to 30% of the minimum wage for working 5 days a week. Additionally, the company provides a wide transportation network, breakfast, and lunch free of charge.
2026 Internship Calendar and Application Steps
Candidates can complete their applications by March 31, 2026, via the "Defence Career" platform of the Presidency's Human Resources Office. All details regarding applications can be found at https://www.aselsan.com/tr/ayetenekyazstaji. Evaluation results will be announced in the first week of May. Successful candidates can determine their internship duration as 20, 25, or 30 business days. Students have the flexibility to choose one of three different internship periods in June, July, or August according to their university calendar.
The New Recruits of the National Technology Move
This internship programme conducted by ASELSAN carries strategic significance far beyond a simple student recruitment process. Türkiye needs a qualified human resource to sustain the technological depth it has achieved in the defence industry. These internships, which are the strongest and most efficient source of the long-term ASELSAN recruitment vision, discover early on the new generation of engineers who will carry the banner of the National Technology Move. Thus, the company lays a solid foundation that will carry Türkiye's digital and military sovereignty into the future.
