The Turkish defense industry continues to advance its achievements in unmanned aerial vehicles through various scenarios and integrations.
According to images and news recently published on the Azeri Defence website, TAI conducted tests of the Şimşek Target Aircraft System in Azerbaijan by launching Şimşek missiles from ANKA UAVs equipped with this system.
This stage is significant from a military perspective. The Şimşek systems launched from ANKA UAVs are currently being used as target aircraft, but experts believe that with minor modifications to the Şimşek Target Aircraft, these systems could also be used for radar jamming and deception behind enemy lines in the future. Furthermore, by increasing their payload capacity, they could even be transformed into smart munitions.
