TEMSA has accelerated its driverless bus development efforts. Having launched its first electric bus, the MD9 electriCITY, into mass production, TEMSA showcased the MD9 electriCITY, the autonomous member of the MD9 family and its first electric and driverless concept vehicle, at the Nvidia Europe GTC event in Munich.
TEMSA plans to have the vehicle ready for mass production in 2022.
TEMSA, which has successfully exported nearly 15,000 vehicles developed by Turkish engineers to almost 70 countries to date, continues to expand its vehicle range with high-tech vehicles. While continuing its work on electric vehicles and bringing the 9-meter MD9 electriCITY and the 12-meter Avenue Electron to mass production, TEMSA is now preparing to lead the way in driverless vehicle technology in Türkiye.
Work on the driverless bus began in 2017.
One of the most important pillars of TEMSA's technological development strategy is driverless vehicle technology, and work on this technology has been ongoing intensively at the company's facilities in Adana for approximately two years. As a result of these efforts, the concept version of the first domestically produced electric driverless vehicle, developed with the support of TÜBİTAK and in collaboration with Galatasaray University and Infotech, was exhibited at the Nvidia Europe GTC event held in Munich, Germany, from October 9-11.
