Countdown begins for the national tank. The 'Altay' National Tank Project, whose first prototype was produced in 2012, will be ready for use by the end of 2016.
The Turkish Land Forces Command is continuing its work on the 'Altay' main battle tank, which will be produced by Otokar Automotive and Defense Industry Inc. within the framework of the National Tank Production Project (MITUP) to meet the Turkish Main Battle Tank needs through a domestic development model.
Ahmet Serdar Görgüç, General Manager of Otokar Sakarya Factory, informed Sakarya Governor Hüseyin Avni Coş about the Altay National Tank Project, stating that the Altay National Tank will be ready by the end of 2016.
