Togg Announces a "People's Style" Model: While Everyone Was Expecting the "T8," Togg Surprises with the "T6"!

The expectation of T8 in Togg was replaced by the reality of T6. Announced by Fuat Tosyalı, the T6 model will come with "people type" pricing in the B segment.

The automotive world was locked on a compact SUV codenamed “T8” for the third model to be launched by Togg following the T10X and T10F models. However, Fuat Tosyalı, who spoke at the Davos Summit, defied all expectations and pointed to a sub-segment and announced the “T6” model. So what does this code change mean? Did Togg prioritise the “People Type” model?

In the model naming strategy of the domestic automobile Togg (T10X: the number 10 represents the C segment, X represents the SUV body type), the expectation of T8 was dominant for some time. The public expected a “C-minus” or “Intermediate Segment” vehicle that is slightly more compact than the T10X but with similar equipment features.

However, Togg Board Member Fuat Tosyalı's statement dated 20 January 2026 indicates that the route B Segment (Urban SUV/Crossover) that it was broken.

Why T6 when T8 was expected?

Tosyalı's “T6” and he used the expression “A model that everyone can access very easily” definition of the term "strategic choice" shows that the Togg administration has made a strategic choice:

  1. Price Competition and Market Share: The T8 would probably be in a price scale close to the T10X. However T6 (B-SUV), It will be much more affordable, lighter and suitable for urban use than the T10X. This shows that Togg will leave the perception of “luxury vehicle” and make a hard entry into the “economic electric vehicle” market, which Chinese competitors are trying to dominate.
  2. The Shortest Way to 100,000 Target: Tosyalı has set an annual production target of 100 thousand by the end of 2027. To reach this volume, top segment vehicles such as the T10X and T10F alone may not be sufficient. A model that would sell like hotcakes and “win from the version” was required; and that model needed to be T6 that he was.

What will T6 offer us?

According to Togg's naming logic;

  • 10: C Segment (Compact Class)
  • 8: (Expected but postponed) C/B transition form.
  • 6: B Segment (Small Class)

T6, The T10X will be an “Urban SUV”, smaller in size than the T10X, possibly with a single engine, smaller battery pack but with high range efficiency. This model is expected to enter the market with a price that is almost half or two-thirds of the current T10X price, maximising the tax bracket advantage in Turkey.

T8 cancelled?

Tosyalı's statement does not mean that T8 has been cancelled, but that the ranking has changed shows. Global economic conditions and the purchasing power dynamics of the Turkish market seem to have led Togg management to adopt an “accessible model first” (T6) strategy. Following the success of the T6, the T8 will probably be introduced at a later date (2028-2029) as a complementary model to the product range.

As a result; Togg, in 2027 T6 aims to be “People's Car”, not “Premium”.
