The Surface-to-Surface Guided Missile Procurement (ATMACA) Project Series Production Contract was signed between the Presidency of Defence Industries and Roketsan Inc. The ceremony, held at the Presidency of Defence Industries, was attended by the President of Defence Industries, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, and officials from the Turkish Armed Forces, Roketsan, and Aselsan.

The ATMACA Project was initiated to meet the Turkish Navy's need for ship-to-ship cruise missiles to be deployed on the MİLGEM platforms. The ATMACA cruise missiles were developed domestically by Roketsan, while the fire control systems and other equipment were developed by Aselsan. Under the signed contract, Roketsan will handle the mass production of the missiles, while Aselsan will produce the fire control system, necessary hardware, and spare parts. The produced systems will be integrated into the I-Class MİLGEM Platform. ATMACA also holds the distinction of being Türkiye's first domestically developed naval missile.
