Türkiye's first national communications satellite, Türksat 6A, has been successfully placed into its final mission orbit of 35,786 kilometers. This significant achievement once again demonstrates Türkiye's capabilities in space technologies.
During the orbital transfers, entirely domestically developed software and capabilities were used. Through four separate launches on July 10, 12, 14, and 16, the satellite was gradually moved from an elliptical orbit between 300 km and 70,000 km to its final orbit after separating from the rocket.

Türksat 6A will be tested in an orbit of approximately 50 degrees in the coming months, and then transferred to 42 degrees and delivered to Türksat to operate for at least 15 years.
Türksat 6A is Türkiye's first domestically produced communications satellite. With a launch weight of approximately 4.2 tons, this satellite has a power output of 8.4 kW. Türksat 6A will serve as a capacity extender, providing redundancy and increasing capacity for existing satellites. Providing data communication services, its coverage area will include India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The satellite is planned to operate for 15 years.
