The prototype of Türkiye's first domestically produced car will be manufactured by a joint venture group formed with the participation of Anadolu Group, BMC, Kıraça Holding, Turkcell, and Zorlu Group.
Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Özlü attended the "Türkiye's Automobile Project, Joint Venture Group Cooperation Protocol Signing Ceremony" held at the Presidential Complex with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Özlü pointed out that the domestic car brand project has an importance far beyond simply creating a car brand, saying that the project means a leap forward for Turkish industry, the transformation of Industry 4.0, and digital transformation.
Özlü stated that they have achieved a first under the leadership of President Erdoğan and have embarked on the journey for Türkiye's first domestic automobile, saying, “Our domestic brand automobile will be capable of responding to all innovations, digitalization, transformation, software, demands, and trends in the automotive industry. Türkiye's automobile will have more than enough, not less. Our bar is high, our goal is big. We aim for a brand that will impress and create awareness not only in the domestic market but also in foreign markets, and for global success.”.
Minister Özlü explained that they had conducted global-scale research, prepared studies, reports, and analyses for Türkiye's domestic brand automobile. He pointed out that they had seen that the Turkish automotive industry has a very strong infrastructure, main and sub-industries, design and production engineers, experience, and a determined political will. Özlü stated, “However, the private sector needed serious motivation in this regard. Thanks to your resolute stance, we gained motivation, we believed, and we have reached this point today. Following the President's instructions, we came together around the same table and treated the domestic automobile as a 'national project and duty.' Thank God, today we are embarking on this journey with a group of entrepreneurs who are trustworthy, strong, harmonious, and focused on the same goal.‘.
