Otokar won the tender opened by the Izmir ESHOT General Directorate for the purchase of 304 buses, signing a contract for the largest single-item bus tender of the year.
Izmir, which has solidified its place among the world's most livable cities, will begin receiving deliveries of its new vehicle fleet this year. Otokar, which provides superior comfort and safety in public transportation to millions of passengers in more than 50 countries with its modern buses, will also provide after-sales service to ESHOT for 5 years.
Otokar, a Koç Group company, continues to strengthen the public transportation fleets of municipalities across Türkiye with its innovative and environmentally friendly vehicles. Otokar, whose vehicles' design, ergonomics, and technology have garnered significant acclaim in over 50 countries, won a bus tender from İzmir ESHOT for the purchase of 304 buses and the provision of after-sales services for the vehicles for a period of 5 years, with a total value of approximately 476 million TL. The contract for the tender has been signed.
Otokar, a company preferred by many metropolitan municipalities in Türkiye in recent years and which has won tenders in European countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Romania, will deliver 170 KENT LF and 134 KENT articulated buses to Izmir in batches during 2020 and 2021. Otokar will also provide after-sales services for the vehicles for 5 years.
