The ANKA UAV was tested by TAI engineers at the Military Airfield in Sivrihisar District of Eskişehir on the previous day at 09:35.

The unmanned aerial vehicle took off from the runway using its autopilot system. During the 6-hour flight, the pilotless aircraft climbed to 18,000 feet, or 6,000 meters. 240 different tests were successfully conducted during the flight.

Following test flights, ANKA landed safely in Sivrihisar at 15:35, again using its autopilot system. During the tests, ANKA carried a domestically produced FLIR camera system, manufactured by ASELSAN, in its nose, which is capable of infrared imaging and has the same dimensions and weight as the original. In the tests that will continue in the coming days, ANKA's 24-hour flight endurance and the actual FLIR camera system will be tested.

The final phase of the tests is planned to take place in Southeastern Turkey.
