The Turkish Air Force Command will soon add the domestically produced long-range early warning radar ERALP to its inventory.
ERALP stands out as a new generation S-band radar with AESA and digital beamforming infrastructure in its antenna architecture, and as a system that can be quickly installed and removed from tactical wheeled platforms.
Thanks to its next-generation radar algorithms, digital antenna architecture, electronic beam steering capability, and GaN transceiver modules distributed across the entire antenna surface, the system can detect and track all air targets from very long distances. The radar stands out with its active beam-guided friend-or-foe identification subsystem. Due to its network-based radar logic, multiple ERALP systems can function as a single radar, thus making the invisible "visible".
The ERALP Portable Early Warning Radar System, having completed its factory acceptance tests, has been installed in its initial location. During these tests, ERALP detected targets far beyond the range observed by Türkiye's existing early warning radars. ERALP aims to significantly enhance the Turkish Air Force's awareness capability.
