Tiryaki Agro, one of Türkiye's strongest players in the global food supply chain, has made a strategic move in its 60th year. Under an agreement with the Saudi Arabia-based Savola Group, the company acquired 100% of Savola Foods Türkiye, which includes Yudum, one of Türkiye's best-known cooking oil brands. With this move, one of the indispensable brands of Turkish cuisine has come under the umbrella of a strong domestic industrial group.

The Turkish food industry is witnessing one of the biggest mergers of 2026. Tiryaki Agro, which has become a global giant by managing processes from seed to table in the agricultural product supply chain, is strengthening its position in the retail sector. The group, which has its Hassata brand on the shelves in legumes and rice, has taken its product range to a strategic level by acquiring Savola Foods Türkiye, one of the leaders in the liquid oil market.

Details of the Agreement: Strategic Partnership Model

The acquisition was more than just a classic change of ownership; it was structured around a model where two giants joined forces. According to the agreement:

  1. Full Revolution: Tiryaki Agro’nun iştiraki olan Tiryaki Anadolu, Savola Foods Türkiye’nin hisselerinin %100’ünü satın aldı.
  2. Mutual Sharing: Bu satış karşılığında Savola Group (iştiraki Afia International aracılığıyla), Tiryaki Anadolu’nun konsolide yapısında %15 oranında azınlık hissedarı oldu.

This model allows Tiryaki Agro to take over the management of a well-established brand like Yudum, while also enabling Savola Group to maintain its presence in the Turkish market as an investor partner.

Yudum and Egemden are now under the Tiryaki umbrella.

With this acquisition, Tiryaki Agro took over not only the factories but also a huge portfolio of Türkiye's most trusted Lovemarks. The brands now under the management of Tiryaki Anadolu are as follows:

  • Sip: The first brand that comes to mind when you think of sunflower oil in Türkiye.
  • From the Aegean: A premium player in the olive oil segment.
  • Sırma: A well-established name in the corn and sunflower oil market.
  • Brillo & Cielo: Strong olive oil brands in export markets.
  • Sava & Vala: Industrial and baking oils.

Tiryaki Agro CEO Tiryakioğlu: We are combining global experience with local strength.

Supply Chain to Shelf Control

Tiryaki Agro is a supply chain giant currently operating in 11 different locations across 4 continents, managing 6 million tons of products annually. With this acquisition, the company has added a retail giant identity to its raw material supplier role.

As Tiryaki Anadolu CEO Tekin Mengüç stated, the combination of Tiryaki's strong logistics and production infrastructure with Yudum's retail strength symbolizes the birth of a competitive Turkish food giant, both in the domestic market and in exports. This move is also considered a critical achievement in terms of the sustainability of domestic production, especially in today's world where food security has gained strategic importance.
