Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) successfully conducted the first test flight of the HÜRKUŞ-B, which is planned to enter the Air Force inventory in the middle of this year.
Following the successful completion of the test flight of the more stable and much more comprehensively produced HÜRKUŞ-B, many important tests will be conducted on its engine, avionics, stability, and flight performance. After the planned 90 hours of sortie flights, it will enter the inventory of the Turkish Air Force.
Speaking about the HÜRKUŞ-B, which successfully completed its first test flight, TAI General Manager Assoc. Dr. Temel Kotil stated that following the HÜRKUŞ-A, which was designed for civilian use, the features and dynamics of the HÜRKUŞ-B have been renewed. Kotil said, “HÜRKUŞ-B is 100 kilograms lighter, faster, more modern, and more powerful than HÜRKUŞ-A. This variant was designed as a more stable and comprehensive aircraft.” Following the successful test, the aircraft's testing phases will continue. Many tests will be conducted on HÜRKUŞ-B, including those related to engine, avionics, stability, and flight performance.
HÜRKUŞ-B is considered the best in its class, and it has been explained that all systems, especially the cockpit, ejection seat, oxygen support, and landing gear weight capacity, are designed like a jet cockpit.
