Karsan, which has made a name for itself with the tenders it has won in the European market, continues to offer advanced mobility solutions. The company has now taken a new step to grow in the North American market.
Following its agreement with the Canadian market, Karsan has also signed a distributorship agreement with Damera for the US market.
Karsan CEO Okan Baş stated, “With our vision of being one step ahead in the future of mobility, our journey to electrify public transportation worldwide has now reached the USA. Today, a total of 30 e-JEST vehicles are serving the local community in Saint John, Oakville, and Happy Valley in Canada. Following this agreement for the US market after Canada, we will reach a total of 100 electric e-JEST vehicles in our fleet by the end of the year with new deliveries in North America.”.
Karsan's e-JEST electric minibus is Canada's first 20-foot low-floor electric minibus to provide public transportation services. Powered by a BMW i electric motor producing 210 kW of power and 2,500 Nm of torque, the e-JEST offers a range of 165 km. It also stands out with its 8-hour charging time.
Karsan plans to offer its other electric vehicles, e-ATAK and e-STAR, in addition to the e-JEST, in the US market. In this way, Karsan will contribute to the electrification of public transportation in North America.
