The delivery ceremony for the 300th vehicle under the STA Project was held at the FNSS Gölbaşı facility.
The Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) will procure a total of 344 weapon carrier vehicles (STA) for the Land Forces Command. These vehicles were originally designed and manufactured by FNSS. The PARS 4×4 and KAPLAN STA vehicles are equipped with Kornet-E and OMTAS weapon turrets.
The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Defense Industry, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, representatives from the Ministry of National Defense, the Turkish Armed Forces, and the defense sector. Görgün stated that the delivery of the vehicles will be completed by October 2024. He said that the vehicles combine the agile and modular structure of an armored combat vehicle with the mobility and tactical maneuverability of a combat vehicle, superior protection, and firepower. Görgün emphasized that the vehicles can be adapted to various tasks such as anti-tank warfare, fire support, reconnaissance, internal security, and convoy protection. He also stated that the vehicles can maneuver at high speeds in different terrains and all weather conditions, and that their amphibious capability allows them to cross waterlogged areas.
The Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) contributes to the modernization and strengthening of the Turkish Armed Forces through the STA Project.
