Shortly after the ANKA unmanned aerial vehicle took to the skies, TAI achieved another surprising milestone for Türkiye. A fully armed but unmanned helicopter, named Sivrisinek (Mosquito), was successfully flown.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), which entered the aviation sector with the assembly of F-16s, has added a new achievement to its design work in this field. TAI, which has been frequently mentioned in the news recently for its work on unmanned aerial vehicles, has now designed and flown an unmanned helicopter capable of carrying weapons.

The helicopter, named Sivrisinek (Mosquito), had its engine and some flight components imported from abroad. Sivrisinek made its first flight on December 24, 2010, at TAI's Akıncı facility.
