Türkiye's first solar-powered bus, produced entirely with domestic technology, is ready to carry passengers. Developed through a partnership between METU Solar Energy Research Center and MAN, using 100% domestic resources, this technology enables Türkiye's first solar-powered bus to efficiently generate electricity and has begun service.
Solar panel technology, which makes it possible to convert sunlight into electrical energy, has gained importance in recent years as our increasingly industrialized and high-tech sustainable energy source has emerged.
In a partnership between METU Solar Energy Research Center and MAN, solar panels mounted on the bus will enable it to fully power its air conditioning, audio and video systems, wireless internet, hot and cold water units, lighting, and engine battery entirely from solar energy.
