The Turkish Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Program, which came into effect with the contract signed between the Undersecretariat of Defence Industries (SSM) and TUSAŞ on December 24, 2004, is being carried out to meet the Turkish Armed Forces' (TSK) requirements for a medium-altitude, long-endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) system.
Program Description:
The Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAV Program is a development project aiming to design and develop three aircraft prototypes and all ground systems according to specified requirements, and to complete prototype and development testing. The program consists of conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design and development, and testing and evaluation phases. During the development phase, a Systems Integration Laboratory (SI) will be established where the development/interface/integration of all system components will be carried out. The goal is to complete system integration and conduct the first flights in 2009.
