Within the scope of the 35 mm Air Defense System Modernization (HSSM) and Particle Ammunition Supply (PMT) Contract, led by the Presidency of Defense Industry, ASELSAN produced 100,000 ammunition electronics at its facilities.
ATOM 35 mm Fragmented Ammunition achieves high accuracy thanks to its precise time counting and time programming capabilities corrected according to the measured ammunition exit velocity. This enables barrel systems to be used as effective air defense weapons. When modernized towed cannons and KORKUT systems are used with ATOM 35 mm Fragmented Ammunition, they provide effectiveness against conventional air targets such as fighter jets and helicopters, as well as modern air threats such as air-to-ground missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles. ATOM 35mm Fragmented Ammunition was developed by ASELSAN as the main contractor, together with MKEK and TÜBİTAK SAGE, and has become an important element of layered air defense.
