ASELSAN has started working on the YAKUD project to provide a national solution for Near Space Situational Awareness and to establish a Space Operations Command and Control Center.
The YAKUD Project aims to apply ASELSAN's capabilities in air defense command and control design, radar, communication, simulation, mechanical design, and algorithm design to the space sector.
The project will focus on YAKUD (Near-Space Situational Awareness) and will enable the detection and evaluation of satellites and space debris in LEO (Least-Earth Orbit), aiming to provide input for planning national space missions with this data. Within the scope of the project, data from various data sources, observatories, telescopes, and other sensors will be combined to create a space weather picture.
ASELSAN will undoubtedly make a maximum contribution to the National Space Program, led by the Turkish Space Agency, by offering its knowledge and experience in all areas of expertise. Thanks to the situational awareness that will be provided regarding activity in near-Earth orbits through the YAKUD Project, our planning in space projects will be more accurate, and Türkiye's presence in space will be more secure.
