In 1976, the founders of MASTAŞ started their business in a small workshop. Initially, five brave and talented teachers worked with cold iron and profiles. Later, they began producing some agricultural tools and machinery. From agricultural tools, they moved on to tractor trailer manufacturing. Subsequently, they considered tractor-mounted equipment to load these trailers.
The foundations for Excavator Loader Construction Machinery, a specialized field in their current manufacturing portfolio, were laid back then. Initially, agricultural tractors were used as carriers. Mechanical systems were developed to fit these tractors. With advancements in hydraulic and manufacturing technologies, mechanical components were replaced by hydraulic equipment. Mastaş became the best-known company in this sector, especially in the Aegean Region, with its excavator loader equipment.
In 1988, an agreement was made with the Italian company Benfra. According to the agreement, hydraulic equipment was mounted onto original construction machine chassis with running gear, imported from Italy as skits. Benfra, unable to recover from the economic crisis in Italy, closed down. MASTAŞ, through its own efforts, procured the parts that made up the skit section of the machine and began assembling all parts of the machine in Türkiye. The 115 HP Articulated Breakaway model, under the name BK110, is still offered for sale in the product range. Research and investments continue uninterrupted to meet changing market needs.
Since 1996, with the experience gained over the years and the investments made, the production of MST Series Backhoe Loaders, which are Flat Chassis Models, has commenced.
