Ismail Demir, head of the Defense Industry, announced that they have signed contracts to support thirteen R&D projects of critical importance to Türkiye, which were started in 2021.
It is noteworthy that the thirteen projects, which are of critical importance for Turkey, focus particularly on technologies that Türkiye would have difficulty procuring from abroad due to restrictions. The thirteen projects for which contracts were signed for support are: SAHRA, SUMRU, 6G R&D, AHENK, SİBERSİM, ANAHTAR, SİNERJİ, AHLAT, DEMET, YÖNTEM, KÜLÇE, LADES, and DEKON.
We have compiled the details of thirteen projects for which contracts have been signed to develop technologies that will be of critical importance for Türkiye in the future.
Cyber Defense Simulation Platform (SİBERSİM) Project
Through the Sibersim project, SSB and Inter Probe & STM & CIS R&D will work together to acquire new tools for detecting and analyzing cyberattacks targeting our country, to conduct effectiveness analyses of malware used in attacks, and to increase the level of training and preparedness in cybersecurity organizations.
Development of Cybersecurity Capabilities for Energy Critical Infrastructures (SYNERGY) Project
Through the synergy project, SSS, National Keep, Havelsan, TÜBİTAK Bilgem, Sakarya University, and Sakarya Technopark will work together on ensuring cybersecurity for critical energy infrastructures, implementing new approaches in cybersecurity, and strengthening cyber defense capabilities in the energy sector.
Laser Detonator Development (LADES) Project
With the Lades project, SSB, ODTÜ MEMS Center, Roketsan, and Fiberlast will work together to develop a new generation of detonators to be used in the launch of spacecraft and ammunition.
Development of Functional Transition Material Processes with Directed Energy Deposition Additive Manufacturing Technology (YÖNTEM) Project
Through this project, SSB – Roketsan & Ürtem will work on acquiring new capabilities in production technologies and transferring these acquired capabilities to the production environment.
Design-Based Network Development for Swarm Systems (SAHRA) Project
With the SAHRA project, SSB, Ulak Communication, Tualcom, and Hacettepe Technopark will develop a unique communication infrastructure for swarm UAVs. The aim is to provide swarm UAV systems with satellite and LTE-independent mission capabilities.
Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies for Swarm-to-Swarm Aerial Engagements (SUMRU) Project
With the Sumru project, SSB, ITU & ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Application and Research Center & ITU will work on the creation of a countermeasures concept against swarm threats, the development of guidance techniques in swarm technologies, and the implementation of innovative scientific techniques.
Detection of Border Security Violations Using Artificial Intelligence-Based UAVs (AHLAT) Project
With the Ahlat project, the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and Bitlis Eren University will work on supporting border security with artificial intelligence solutions and identifying threats by scanning the border line at the optimal time and route.
Development of Distributed Decision-Making Infrastructure for Swarm Systems (AHENK) Project
With the Ahenk project, the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and Ankara University will work on increasing swarm operation capabilities in unmanned systems, developing a communication language in swarm systems, building a distributed decision-making mechanism in swarm systems, and contributing to the decision-making capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces.
Development of Next-Generation Decontamination Agent Technology Against Chemical and Biological Warfare Agents (DEKON) Project
With the Dekon project, SSB, Sun Tekstil & TÜBİTAK MAM, and Berko İlaç will work together on the development of reactive decontamination agents in powder, liquid pad/wipe, and cream/lotion forms.
Development of Resin Preimpregnated Fiber (DEMET) Project
With the Demet project, SSB and Roketsan & DowAksa will work together on the development of critical materials to be used in the aerospace industry and on limiting dependence on foreign sources for critical materials subject to export restrictions.
Aviation Engine Components Development Program Phase 2 (INGOT) Project
With the ingot project, SSB, Parsan, TEI, and TÜBİTAK MAM will work on maintaining the gains achieved in the Phase-1 Ore project, developing aviation gas turbine engine materials, developing a powder metallurgy production project, developing a turbine disc production project, and limiting foreign procurement.
6G Technologies Development (6G R&D) Project
With the 6G R&D project, SSB and Ulak Communication will work together to contribute to the formation of 6G communication standards and to become a country that develops patents in 6G technologies.
Development of a Distributed and High-Performance Computing System for Cryptographic Attacks (KEY) Project
With this key project, SSB and Inter Probe & Pavotek will work together on developing cryptographic decryption systems for enterprise needs, ensuring they are scalable according to user requirements, high-performance, and operate using a distributed computing architecture.
