Mekanum Wheeled Electric Forklifts, developed by Okta Lift with the support of TÜBİTAK and manufactured in Konya, are attracting great interest from abroad.
Okta Lift, operating in Konya, started its forklift R&D studies in 2012 with the contributions of Selçuk University, and these studies gained momentum with the support of TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), eventually turning into production. The company, which produces Mekanum Wheeled Forklifts that can move easily in all directions, is also attracting significant interest from abroad.
Okta Lift manufactures its forklifts entirely in-house using domestic resources, from project and production planning to the machining and welding of parts, assembly, and software development. Furthermore, the company has its own software department, completely eliminating dependence on foreign software providers by developing national software solutions.

What is Mekanum Wheeled Forklift?
Mekanum wheels consist of specially positioned rollers with a unique geometry, arranged at 45-degree angles, enabling the vehicle to move forward, backward, diagonally, laterally, in place, and in any direction. Theoretically, Mekanum wheels increase the degree of freedom of movement of the vehicle they are used on.
The most important feature of Mekanum wheeled forklifts is that the vehicle's wheels can move independently of each other. This means that the vehicle's degree of freedom is increased. Vehicles with two degrees of freedom can only move to the target point by moving forward and backward or by turning. However, these vehicles cannot approach the target laterally. To improve this limited movement, Mekanum four-wheel-drive, four-degree-of-freedom mobile vehicles use special steerable wheels. These developed wheels have given the vehicle the ability to move both forward and backward, as well as translationally and laterally. Mekanum wheeled mobile vehicles offer significant advantages because, with their special wheel mechanism, they can be used without requiring a very large area and without changing the rotation angles of the wheels.
