This is a promotional video for the TJ90 Turbojet engine, developed entirely domestically by TEI to meet the need for gas turbine engines required for the development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles with different capabilities and high-speed target platforms.
TEI primarily develops turbojet and turboprop engines for the gas turbine needs of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), which are competitive, innovative, and technologically advanced, with the aim of establishing a presence in the national market in the long term, and in the international market in the long term. TEI's R&D efforts in this area have been ongoing since 2004. As part of these efforts, the TJ90 turbojet engine has been developed. The control of these engines is carried out through electronic control units developed entirely with domestic resources.
Development work on a turbojet engine providing higher thrust than the TJ35 engine began in January 2011. The project, supported by TEYDEB (Turkish Aerospace Industries), resulted in a cooperation agreement being signed in March 2012 for use on TUSAŞ's Şimşek platform.
