Togg Breaks Record with 4,503 Sales in June as Electric Market Contracts by 42 Per Cent

Togg posted its best performance of the year in June 2026 with 4,503 units sold. While the electric vehicle market contracted by 42 per cent, Tesla remained at 398 units and BYD at 68 units. The SCT threshold adjustment hit imported brands hard.

The June 2026 electric vehicle market table in Türkiye has revealed a striking widening of the gap between domestic manufacturer Togg and imported brands. Togg achieved a total of 4,503 sales with its T10X and T10F models, marking its best monthly performance since the beginning of the year. During the same period, Tesla sold 398 units, while Chinese manufacturer BYD managed only 68 vehicles. With a total of 14,904 electric vehicles sold in the market, the electric segment contracted by 41.9 per cent year-on-year.

Togg at the Top with Both Models

Both of Togg's models ranked in the top three on the list of best-selling electric models in June. The T10X topped the chart with 2,933 units, while the T10F secured third place with 1,570 units. In second place was the KGM Torres EVX with 1,658 units. The MINI Countryman (1,410), Opel Frontera (845) and Volvo EX30 (742) completed the top six.

Togg's June performance is also noteworthy as it coincides with the brand's transition to LFP batteries. The switch from NMC to LFP batteries in long-range models does not appear to have adversely affected sales; on the contrary, consumers appear to have responded positively to the change.

Sharp Decline for Tesla and BYD

Global electric vehicle giants Tesla and BYD both performed well below expectations in Türkiye in June. Tesla's 398-unit sales figure fell significantly short of the brand's potential in the country, while BYD's volume of just 68 units dropped to an almost symbolic level.

The SCT (Special Consumption Tax) threshold adjustment has been a key factor in this decline, preventing well-equipped electric vehicles from being offered at reasonable price levels. Imported brands, particularly Tesla and BYD, have lost competitiveness in price segments where SCT advantages have been eroded. Togg, benefiting from its domestic production advantage, has been relatively less affected by this situation.

Market Shrinks, Electric Share Declines

In Türkiye's overall automotive market, which contracted by 10.4 per cent year-on-year, total sales in June reached 83,978 units. Electric vehicles accounted for only 17.7 per cent of these sales. The 41.9 per cent contraction in the electric vehicle market clearly demonstrates the impact of the SCT threshold adjustment on the sector.

Togg's performance becomes even more significant when compared with previous months. The 4,503-unit volume achieved by the company in June represents the highest monthly sales figure for 2026. Togg had recorded sales of 3,752 in May, 3,428 in April, 3,891 in March, 2,956 in February and 3,012 in January. The June data indicates that the company is maintaining a steady growth trend and is entering the second half of the year on a strong footing.
