TÜBİTAK will provide 100% R&D support to high-budget projects for the development and production of the domestic communications satellite TÜRKSAT 6A.
Having achieved a significant success by launching Türkiye's national observation satellites GÖKTÜRK 2 and RASAT into space, TÜBİTAK has now begun work on a domestic communications satellite. To this end, a call for proposals has been published under the Public Institutions Research and Development Projects Support Program (1007 Program) for the "Development and Production of a Domestic Communications Satellite".
The satellite, named TÜRKSAT 6A, will have a completely domestic design and all integration will be done in Türkiye. Intended to be developed with maximum domestic resources, the TÜRKSAT 6A communications satellite will also serve civilian, commercial, and military public institutions.
