Türkiye has signed agreements in five critical areas that will form the backbone of the Alliance's future deterrence architecture at the 2026 NATO Defence Industry Forum. According to a statement by Professor Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of the Defence Industry Agency, ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, STM and TÜBİTAK will take part as contractors in projects to be conducted in the fields of strike capabilities, integrated air and missile defence systems, space and surveillance capabilities, critical raw materials for the defence industry, and NATO's unmanned aerial vehicle superiority.
Görgün: "Türkiye Can Lead NATO's Defence Industry Transformation"
Speaking at the Forum's opening programme, Haluk Görgün emphasised that the security threats facing the Alliance necessitate stronger solidarity within the defence industry. Görgün stated: "We underlined that Türkiye can lead the defence industry transformation that NATO nations require. We emphasised that we are ready to cooperate with all our Allies to realise this vision."

The signed agreements elevate the role of the Turkish defence industry within NATO's supply chain to a strategic level. The participation of institutions such as ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, STM and TÜBİTAK as contractors in these projects demonstrates that Türkiye has moved beyond developing its own systems to become an actor contributing to the Alliance's common capability pool.
5 Critical Areas
The fields covered by the agreements reflect the most critical capability sets of the modern battlefield. Strike capabilities and integrated air and missile defence systems are directly aligned with the experience Türkiye has gained through systems such as TAYFUN, SİPER, HİSAR and SUNGUR. In the area of space and surveillance capabilities, TÜBİTAK UZAY's satellite development expertise comes to the fore. Unmanned aerial vehicle superiority is one of Türkiye's most ambitious fields, with proven platforms from Baykar and TUSAŞ.

Stating that these agreements will form the backbone of the Alliance's deterrence architecture in the coming years, Görgün indicated that the integration of the Turkish defence industry within NATO will deepen.
