The uncertainty surrounding PARDUS, Türkiye's first domestic Linux distribution operating system, has ended. PARDUS, which last released its individual user version in 2011, has completed preparations for the TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM 2013 version and has begun installations for public institutions.
The General Staff Recruitment Department became one of the first users of the new PARDUS. PARDUS also became the operating system for the Ministry of National Education's "smart board" project. A version of PARDUS compatible with smart boards has been installed on existing boards, and the total number of installations will exceed 400,000. The Social Security Institution (SGK), one of Türkiye's largest users of information technology, is also interested in PARDUS.
