The ninth unit of the National Naval Gun DENİZHAN-76, developed by MKE with domestic and national capabilities, has been delivered after successfully completing live-fire acceptance tests. The gun has been made ready for integration onto the 11th vessel built under the MİLGEM Project. According to MKE's statement, national vessels are being equipped with the DENİZHAN-76, a system only a very small number of countries have the production capability for.

Technical Specifications of the MKE DENİZHAN-76

DENİZHAN-76 offers effective firepower against close and medium-range targets. With a rate of fire of 80 rounds per minute, the gun can reach an effective range of 16 kilometres. The system has multi-mission capability, able to carry out air defence, surface warfare and land bombardment tasks. Its low radar signature provides a critical advantage for survivability on naval platforms.

Localisation in the MİLGEM Project

The integration of DENİZHAN-76 onto vessels built under the MİLGEM project means an increase in the localisation rate of the Turkish Naval Forces' main combat platforms. Replacing naval gun systems previously procured from foreign suppliers, DENİZHAN-76 is regarded as a critical step in reducing Türkiye's external dependency in naval weapon systems. The system had previously served as the main gun aboard the HİSAR-class corvette Contraamiral Roman delivered to Romania. That delivery marked the first time Türkiye had brought its national naval gun into the inventory of a NATO and EU member state.
