At TÜBİTAK MAM Materials Institute, a prototype single-crystal turbine blade was produced that flawlessly performs its function at temperatures reaching 1350 degrees Celsius in an aircraft engine.
The first prototype production of turbine blades, one of the most important parts of aircraft engines, was carried out in Türkiye at the TÜBİTAK MAM Materials Institute. TÜBİTAK, which initiated work to produce superalloy single-crystal turbine blades used in new generation jet engines in Türkiye – blades that can withstand high temperatures, multifaceted forces, high speeds, and harsh environmental conditions for extended periods – successfully produced a prototype of this part in the laboratory it established at the Materials Institute. The domestic production of this turbine blade, capable of functioning at temperatures above 1000 degrees Celsius, will overcome one of the most critical stages in national aircraft production.
