Türkiye's potential in software exports and its engineering quality are being recognized at the highest level in the international arena. The “Air Traffic Controller Selection Software” (atcSES), developed in collaboration between TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and DHMİ, is being awarded by Oracle, one of the giants of the software world. The domestically developed system was selected as one of the top 10 Java projects in the world at the “Duke's Choice Award,” one of the most prestigious global awards organizations.
Domestic software that manages a critical process requiring high attention and cognitive ability, such as the selection of air traffic controllers, where there is no room for error. atcSES, Its success extends beyond our borders. The system, developed by Turkish engineers at the Institute of Information Technologies (IIT), received top marks for innovation and technical excellence in a competition organized by technology giant Oracle.
The “Oscar” of the Software World is Coming to Türkiye.
Awarded annually by Oracle to the most innovative projects developed using Java technology. “Duke's Choice Award”, It is considered the “Oscar of Software” in the industry.
The atcSES project beat hundreds of competitors from around the world. “Top 10 Java-Based Software Programs in the World” It adds its name to the list. This award proves not only the success of the project but also that the software architecture and code quality within TÜBİTAK BİLGEM are world-class.
“Native Algorithm” in Critical Personnel Selection”
atcSES (Air Traffic Controller Selection System) measures the abilities of air traffic controller candidates in a computer-assisted environment, including three-dimensional thinking, quick decision-making, stress management, and multitasking.
Instead of test systems previously sourced from abroad, atcSES analyzes candidates' competencies with the most objective and scientific data. The system's flexible Java-based architecture allows it to work seamlessly on different platforms and be updated as needed. Turkish software is now determining the human resources of Turkish aviation.
