Developed with resources from ASELSAN, the ASELSAT 3U CubeSat satellite departed for Florida, USA on January 14, 2021, aboard a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket, to be placed into low Earth orbit.
ASELSAT, developed by integrating critical components designed by ASELSAN into a platform produced by Istanbul Technical University, is expected to begin its mission after successfully being placed into orbit.
The ASELSAT 3U CubeSat will transmit the optical image it obtains with its camera payload to the ground station via the X-band downline subsystem. It will collect statistical data about the space environment using the radiation dosimeter and temperature sensor on its digital card payload.
