Pardus, the national operating system developed by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) in 2003 to meet the needs of public institutions, is being transformed into an operating system that can be used by the entire public.
Ahmet Kaplan, Director of the National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBİM) within TÜBİTAK, to which the Pardus project, described as Türkiye's 'national operating system', belongs, said, "By bringing a new perspective, we want to make Pardus, which is free, an operating system that all our people can use easily and with pleasure. In this way, we will create new areas of work in the IT sector.".
