Designed and manufactured by TUSAŞ – Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. engineers to meet the Turkish Armed Forces' training and armed light close air support aircraft needs, the Basic Training Aircraft “HÜRKUŞ” successfully completed its “First Flight” on August 29, 2013, at TUSAŞ's Kazan facilities, following the completion of ground and taxi tests.
Following inspections conducted by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications (UHDB), the flight test process for HÜRKUŞ has been initiated with the granting of flight permission. This process will be completed after hundreds of flights, culminating in the issuance of a *Type Certificate by the UHDB. HÜRKUŞ will also be certified by the European Civil Aviation Authority (EASA) for European and global sales.
