Following the Precision Guidance Kit (HGK) previously developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE, the Winged Guidance Kit (KGK) has also been developed using domestic resources.
The first batch of deliveries of the new guidance kit, which will be added to the Air Force Command's inventory, will begin in early May.
The Winged Guidance Kit, whose certification processes for F4 2020 aircraft were successfully completed in January and for F-16 fighter jets in March, transforms 250 and 500 kilogram general-purpose bombs in the Turkish Air Force inventory into long-range air-to-ground smart munitions. A new member of the guidance kit family, the Winged Guidance Kit has a flight range of up to 110 kilometers. Thanks to this range and strike capability, our fighter jets using the Winged Guidance Kit can attack and neutralize their targets without ever entering the threat zone.
The Winged Guidance Kit, which does not require any propulsion system for long range, converts the energy it gains from firing altitude and speed into long range by making the most efficient use of its external geometry.
Distinguishing itself with the longest range among inertial-guided munitions in its class, the Winged Guidance Kit derives its precise strike capability from the integrated guidance capability of its Inertial Navigation System and Global Positioning System. Hitting its target with an accuracy of less than 6 meters, the kit provides high destruction at the target and low collateral damage off the target.
