TÜBİTAK SAGE, the R&D hub of the Turkish defense industry, is changing the rules of the game on the battlefield with “BOZOK,” which it developed to increase the strike power and lighten the operational burden of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The laser-guided miniature munition BOZOK, thanks to its lightweight structure, provides UAVs with the ability to “stay airborne longer” and “strike with pinpoint accuracy.”.

Armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which have become a critical element in asymmetric warfare and counter-terrorism, are evaluated based on the weight and effectiveness of the ammunition they carry. TÜBİTAK Defense Industry Research and Development Institute (SAGE) has developed these UAVs to meet this need. BOZOK This maximizes the operational flexibility of UAVs.

First showcased at the 12th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 15) and continuously developed since then, BOZOK demonstrates the expertise of Turkish engineering in "precision guidance".

A “Surgical” Solution for Asymmetric Warfare

BOZOK was designed specifically for situations where civilian casualties must be reduced to zero, such as in urban conflicts or counter-terrorism operations.

  • Protecting Friendly Forces: BOZOK provides unmanned aerial vehicles with attack capabilities, offering an effective defense and attack capability against enemy targets without endangering friendly forces.
  • Scalable Power: For targets where large and heavy munitions (MAM-L or general purpose bombs) might be too much (overkill), BOZOK offers a cost-effective and perfectly balanced firepower.

Technical Advantage: Lightweight, Smart, and Accurate

BOZOK's greatest advantage, as its name suggests, is its "miniature" size. In aviation, every gram is vital; the lighter the ammunition, the longer the UAV can stay airborne or the more ammunition it can carry.

  • Laser Guidance: The missile uses its inertial guidance system to travel towards the target. This system then engages in the final (terminal) phase. Semi-Active Laser Seeker Head, It follows the laser designator projected onto the target, making a centimeter-precise strike.
  • Critical Weight Advantage: Its total weight is only 16 kilogram BOZOK reduces the underwing load of UAVs.
