The assembly process for Türkiye's first domestically produced "High-Speed Train" set, currently under production at TÜRASAŞ facilities, is nearing completion. In the project, whose general timeline was announced just before the New Year, the expected technical update came from the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu: Production of the first set has exceeded 90%, and the project has now moved to the fine finishing and equipment stage.
In the National Electric High-Speed Train project, whose 2026 test schedule was recently finalized, the latest data from the production site confirms that the targets have been met. Minister Uraloğlu's recent statement documents that the project has reached the final assembly stage, not just on paper, but also on the production line.
National High-Speed Train Project: Latest Status: Rough Assembly Completed, "Finishing Work" Begins

The previous statement indicated that 2026 would be a general "test year." This was shared by the Minister. “"90% Physical Progress"” The data shows that the integration of the train's fuselage, bogie, and traction motor is largely complete.
Regarding the current stage, Uraloğlu said:; “"We are nearing the end of the train's interior fittings; we are working on the finishing touches."” He stated that the process has now evolved to include the installation of systems aimed at passenger comfort (seats, lighting, climate control, digital displays).
Finalized Capacity and Configuration Details
The technical details of the project have also been clarified with this announcement. The National High-Speed Train will hit the rails with the following finalized features, based on "current and future needs" projections:
- Passenger Capacity: Full per set 577 passengers. (This figure indicates a higher capacity than many of the current high-speed train sets.)
- Wagon Structure: Aluminum body 8 vehicles Set configuration.
- Accessibility Standards: The special elevator systems that will be included in the train will enable disabled passengers to transfer between platforms and vehicles without needing an escort. This detail highlights the "human-centered" engineering of the domestic design.
Fleet Projection: 15 Sets by 2028
Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that production planning would not be limited to prototypes only, and that mass production would accelerate between 2026 and 2028.
- The current situation: Türkiye's high-speed train fleet currently consists of 31 train sets.
- Aim: To be produced 15 pieces yerli set ile filo kapasitesi yaklaşık %50 oranında artırılacak.
This data indicates that TÜRASAŞ will operate at full capacity for the next two years, generating a significant volume of business for the railway sub-industry.
Date for Launching on the Rails: 2026
With 90% of the project completed, the countdown to the roll-out ceremony of the National High-Speed Train has accelerated. The train, which will be put on the rails in 2026, will enter the certification process after dynamic tests.
