MKE has unveiled the 20 mm twin-barrelled revolver model, the newest member of the TOLGA Close-In Air Defence System it has developed for the layer of the ÇELİKKUBBE air defence architecture at 3,000 metres and below. According to the announcement, the system operates three times faster than its rivals and can fire a total of 3,200 rounds per minute.

Using particulate anti-drone munitions, the system carries out cost-effective interception of kamikaze UAVs and drones at an effective range of 1,000 metres. Offering uninterrupted and effective firepower, the system proved its effectiveness under field conditions when it was used during the Ateş Serbest 2026 activity held in Polatlı.

Layered Air Defence for Close-In Defence from MKE

The MKE TOLGA system provides layered destruction capability against threats at different ranges, from 300 metres up to 3,000 metres. The 12.7 mm QCB and rotary-barrelled weapon systems are effective out to 300 metres, the 20 mm revolver cannon system out to 1,000 metres, and the 35 mm revolver cannon system out to 3,000 metres. The system also includes a laser weapon system with 20 kW of fibre laser power, the electro-optically guided ENFAL missile, and sensors that acoustically detect threats. The TOLGA Close-In Air Defence system's laser weapon had previously proved its effectiveness at the Ateş Serbest-26 exercise by neutralising a drone at 760 metres.

TOLGA's Eye: the GÖKBÖRÜ AESA Radar

The system's detection and tracking capability is provided by the MKE GÖKBÖRÜ AESA radar. Operating in the X band, the radar detects aerial elements with its 360-degree coverage and 2 Hz update rate, using artificial intelligence-supported classification technology. The electro-optical system can perform multiple target detection and moving target tracking. The jammer in the system constitutes the system's soft-kill layer.
