Polish Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Wiesław Kukuła visited ROKETSAN's facilities as part of his visit to Türkiye, examining missile systems, precision munitions, air defence and counter-drone solutions. According to a statement by the Polish General Staff, the visit placed particular emphasis on the TAYFUN missile system and the TRG/TRLG guided artillery munition family.

TAYFUN and Deep Precision Strike Capability

Information was received during the visit regarding different variants of the TAYFUN missile system. The system is being developed to strike targets at long distances with precision. The TRG/TRLG guided artillery munition family was also among the systems presented to the Polish delegation. The Polish General Staff stated that these solutions are being assessed within the scope of the "Deep Precision Strike" concept. This concept forms part of the "Big Seven" programme, defined as one of the priority areas in the transformation of the Polish Armed Forces.

ALKA, PUSU and SUNGUR: Layered Air Defence

Another area of interest for the Polish delegation was multi-layered air defence technologies. Within this scope, information was received regarding the ALKA system, which combines a laser weapon with electronic warfare, the counter-drone solution PUSU, and the short-range air defence missile system SUNGUR. In the Polish General Staff's statement, it was said: "Contemporary deterrence requires the ability to create precision effects on the enemy from great distances, as well as the capability to effectively protect one's own units and infrastructure against aerial threats."

Purpose of the Visit

The visit was carried out with the aim of examining on site the modern technologies and operational capability development directions that carry importance for the transformation of the Polish Armed Forces and the strengthening of the country's defence potential. Poland has recently shown growing interest in Turkish defence industry products. The country had previously added Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles to its inventory.
