Istanbul Airport, Türkiye's flagship project, stands out not only for its architecture but also for the high percentage of domestically produced components in its technological infrastructure. The production of the giant LED screens, the most critical interface for passenger communication at the airport, was undertaken by Taglig, a local company known for its technology hub in Amasya. This move, surpassing global technology giants, has been recorded as a historic achievement proving the maturity of the Turkish electronics industry.
Taglig, which brought its experience in stadium and studio lighting to the aviation sector, proved with this project that "domestic technology" can also be reliable in areas where critical and flawless operation is required.
From Amasya to the Global Showcase: An Anatolian Success Story
The most remarkable aspect of this project is the source of the technology. Taglig, with strategic incentives from the Ministry of Economy, established its production base in Amasya in 2016 and produces LED panels developed entirely through R&D efforts by Turkish engineers.
Transferring technology from Amasya, in the heart of Anatolia, to a mega-project in a metropolis like Istanbul, has become one of the most concrete indicators that Türkiye's industrial production is spreading throughout the country.
“A move that shatters the perception of being an "import paradise".
In the LED screen market, which has been dominated by Chinese or Korean manufacturers for years, entrusting a prestigious project like Istanbul Airport to a domestic company was a strategic step taken in line with the goals of reducing the current account deficit and "technological nationalization".
With this endorsement, Taglig has taken a giant step towards becoming a sought-after player not only in Türkiye's stadiums and airports, but also in the European and Middle Eastern markets.
