The Bayraktar TB3 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), developed by Baykar, has successfully completed its medium-altitude performance test.
The medium-altitude test was conducted to measure the Bayraktar TB3 UAV's ability to fly at an altitude of 15,000 feet and its system performance. The test was carried out at the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu district of Tekirdağ. The test lasted 6 hours. With this test, the TEI PD170 engine, used as the power system of the Bayraktar TB3, once again proved its capabilities. During the test, the Bayraktar TB3 UAV flew with its landing gear retracted for the first time. The successful completion of the test was announced by Baykar Technology CTO Selçuk Bayraktar with a video shared on his Twitter account.
What is the Engine of Bayraktar TB3?
The Bayraktar TB3 uses the TEI-PD170 engine, Türkiye's first aviation engine, developed by TEI engineers.
The Bayraktar TB3, an armed UAV system equipped with smart munitions and capable of taking off and landing from aircraft carriers with short runways, will serve as a protector of the Blue Homeland. Thanks to its foldable wings, the Bayraktar TB3 will be deployed on the TCG Anadolu amphibious assault ship.
