Science, Industry and Technology Minister Işık said, “As one of the outcomes of the Turkish Automobile Project, we will produce automobiles under a Turkish brand. However, the main outcome of this project will be new technologies that will touch every aspect of life.”.

Science, Industry and Technology Minister Fikri Işık said, “When the domestically produced car is launched, it will not be just any vehicle. It will be a different, new vehicle offering many new technologies to the world. I am using an ambitious statement: the vehicle we will produce will be a four-wheeled walking computer.”.

Işık explained that 70% of the parts in vehicles today will not be used in the future, and that by the 2030s, automotive electronics and software will account for half of the cost of a vehicle. He continued his speech as follows:

“We will use the battery technologies we developed at TÜBİTAK in the Turkish automobile. This vehicle will be able to travel 100 kilometers in heavy city traffic with a charging cost of 2 Turkish Lira. For intercity journeys, a small generator in the car will activate to charge the battery. In other words, we will carry the charger in the vehicle, not at a charging station. This means we will be able to travel 1000 kilometers with 20 liters of fuel. This means we will be able to travel the same distance with less than half the fuel of even the most fuel-efficient vehicles currently available. One of the most prominent features of our vehicle will be its integration with autonomous vehicle systems. We aim to adapt the Real-Time Operating System, which we use in aircraft in the defense industry, to the Turkish automobile. This system will provide significant advantages in terms of vehicle control, safety, and fuel consumption. For example, this system will adjust fuel consumption instantly according to the condition of the road, weather, vehicle equipment, and the driver's driving style.”
