The first Class I frigate, which is part of the MİLGEM project and whose project started on September 27, 2019, under the contract signed between STM as the contractor and SSB, is counting down the days until its launch.
What are the specifications of a Class I frigate?
The I-Class Frigate is equipped with sensors and weapons for all basic types of warfare, primarily air defense warfare, and is configured to detect, locate, classify, identify, and destroy targets, as well as provide naval artillery fire support.
The Class I frigate is capable of conducting military maritime operations such as sea surveillance and patrol, and monitoring and surveillance of the Exclusive Economic Zone, in addition to preventing all types of potential threats.
